MUST. SHOOT.
MUST. SHOOT.
My name is Karl Richter. I’m a Writer-Director, purveyor of tone and brand fanatic.
Growing up my brother was my biggest influence, filling my world with comic books, art and movies. I spent most of my childhood either outdoors or in the ‘Lego-room’ of my house, immersed in imaginative world-building to battle dragons or giant robots in epic adventures à la Calvin & Hobbes.
After a brief stint in design in College I knew I had to Direct, so I began my career in post-production, where I discovered the power of editorial to create pace and tone and most importantly, tell story.
I’ve been able to move across brands and genres to include design, animation and photography through a detail-oriented approach to work that has been described as poetic and textural. I’ve made films for Disney, Logitech, Bottega Veneta, Riot Games, Sony, Visa, Flaunt Magazine and Lifeaid.
My work has been featured on Omeleto, Film Shortage, Director’s Notes and at Academy Award and BAFTA-qualifying film festivals globally.
I currently climb, dance and live in Los Angeles.
